Soot Shoot

Retail Management & POS System

Retail management and point of sale for Soot Shoot: stock, tills and reporting as one system instead of three.

01

The challenge

Retail naturally splits into selling, stock and reporting, and small operations usually end up with a different tool for each. The till knows what sold, a spreadsheet knows what's in the stockroom, and the two only meet when someone counts. That's slow, and it's out of date the moment it's done.

Soot Shoot needed selling and stock to be the same system, so a sale moves stock automatically instead of becoming something to remember later.

02

How we approached it

We made the sale the event that moves stock. Once that's true, your stock count is simply a result of trading, not a separate chore, and reporting has one set of numbers to work from.

The till is built for speed and for staff who aren't really looking at it: big buttons, few steps, and nothing to read mid-sale.

Delivered in our usual two-to-four-week rhythm, in short cycles with working software at the end of every one.

03

What we delivered

  • A point-of-sale screen built for speed at the counter
  • Stock levels that move with every sale, not reconciled afterwards
  • Products, prices and variants managed in one place
  • Sales and stock reports from live data

The outcome

Routine manual stock reconciliation is gone. The numbers follow from trading.

Price and product changes are made once and are instantly true at the till.
