Cookie Statement
What this website stores on your device, what Google Analytics does when you allow it, and how to change your mind at any time.
Last updated
This statement explains what www.nyctosys.com stores on your device, and what it is for. It covers cookies and the other browser storage that works the same way, such as localStorage.
The short version: nothing is stored for analytics unless you agree to it first. If you decline, or if you have not answered yet, this site does not contact Google at all.
It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains what we do with personal data more broadly.
Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep and send back on later visits. localStorage works the same way, except the value stays on your device and is not sent with every request.
The law treats them the same: storing or reading anything on your device needs your consent, unless it is strictly necessary for a service you asked for.
What this site stores before you choose
One thing only, and only once you have answered the cookie banner: a record of your answer.
- nycto-analytics-consent: localStorage, kept until you clear your browser data. Stores the word "granted" or "denied" so we do not ask again on every page. This is strictly necessary: it exists only to honour the choice you made, and it is never sent to a server.
Nothing else, and no analytics
Until you press Accept, this site loads no Google Analytics, no tag manager and no advertising code. No request is made to Google, so Google does not receive your IP address or anything else.
What Google Analytics stores if you accept
If you press Accept, we load Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people find useful and where visitors come from. It sets the following cookies on this domain.
- _ga: 2 years. A randomly generated identifier that lets Analytics recognise the same browser across visits, so a returning visitor is not counted as a new one.
- A second cookie whose name begins _ga_ and ends with the Google Analytics property's container id, 2 years. Holds the state of your current session, so a single visit is measured as one session rather than several.
What we do and do not collect
We use Analytics to count visits, see which pages and services are read, and understand which sources bring people to the site. We do not use it to build advertising audiences.
Advertising features are switched off explicitly. When Analytics loads, we set Google's consent signals for ad storage, ad user data and ad personalisation to denied, and enable IP anonymisation.
We do not sell this data, and we do not combine it with the enquiries you send us by email.
Google as a recipient
Google Analytics is provided by Google, and using it means Google processes data about your visit, including your IP address, which it uses to derive an approximate location and then discards. This can involve a transfer to the United States, made under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and Google's participation in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Google's own explanation of how it uses data from sites that use its services is at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Changing your mind
You can withdraw or give consent at any time, and it takes effect immediately. Withdrawing also deletes the Analytics cookies already on this device.
Use the controls on this page. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it, and it has no effect on anything else the site does.
Controlling storage in your browser
Independently of the choice above, every major browser lets you block or delete cookies and site data, usually under Privacy or Site settings. Blocking cookies for this site will not stop it working, because nothing here depends on them.
Browsers that send a Global Privacy Control signal are treated as a refusal, and we will not ask again on that visit.
Third-party services
Fonts are served from this domain, not from Google Fonts, so loading a page does not contact a font service.
Links to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and WhatsApp are ordinary links. They load nothing until you click one, and no data reaches those companies from this site before you do.
If this changes
If we add a service that stores anything else on your device, we will update this page and ask for consent again before it runs.
